Stores may be full of new fall collections, but it won’t be sweater weather here in Georgia for at least another few weeks. And while it may be difficult to wait, keep your sweaters tucked away, and do your best to embrace these slightly cooler temps with a dress and boot combo that nods to a new season, but still gives your legs a breeze. As much we love to rush things, when January rolls around we’ll be begging for this time of year again, so take full advantage of all of your closet staples while they’re still seasonally relevant.

Speaking of closet staples, I have to say the shirtdress is one of mine. Seeing as how they essentially are longer versions of button-downs, they’re as classic as they come and admittedly one of my all-time favorites. They’re a savior for last-minute dates, parties with an indiscernible dress code, and even, possibly, work functions. As cliche as the phrase ‘effortless chic’ is, the expression defines the shirtdress perfectly. With feminine-meets-tomboy charm, it works for every style type, making it a true closet keeper. Plus, it can be layered over leggings or a turtleneck to transition you from season to season. Try the shirtdress on for size this fall. Believe me, you won’t be disappointed!

Dress: Equipment (my favorite brand for a shirtdress) | Riding Boots: Tory Burch (similar) | Purse: Louis Vuitton
