The off-the-shoulder trend is nearly everywhere this year and it’s everywhere for a reason – it’s chic without being attention grabbing; alluring without being obvious. There’s a breezy nonchalance to it that’s difficult to find fault with.
However, after a year and a half of already shoulder barring, I needed to round the trend out, so I did some digging and found the perfect outfit to make this glamorous, retro style suddenly feel right again – my festival look for next summer solved, an off-the-shoulder Tularosa number with embroidered balloon sleeves that might also have been seen on Little House on the Prairie.
The mid-calf length provides modern shape to any silhouette and the cinched waist is flattering on all body types. Coupled with the ultra feminine details in the floral embroidery and the elegance in the high quality construction of a wide brim hat, the results were exactly what I was looking for. Whether it’s cocktails on the beach or an outdoor country wedding, choose an off-the-shoulder look.
